The grade & quality of poplar cores can fall into 7 grades(AA grade poplar core, A+ grade poplar core, A grade poplar core, B+ grade poplar core, B grade poplar core, C+ grade poplar core, C grade poplar core):

1. AA grade poplar core-the best core

a. core veneers: better whole piece poplar core veneers(the size of the core veneers is 84X127CM) scarf jointed by machine(the scarf joint is glued and hot pressed)
b. core will be hot pressed for 1 or 2 times
c. core is very flat
