When you do plywood/film faced plywood business with Chinese supplier, you often hear that your Chinese supplier says proudly that they will totally use "Whole piece core veneer" to produce your panels . You may wonder what "whole piece core veneer" is . In this post, I will explain the meaning of "Whole piece core veneer" in China Plywood Industry .

"Whole piece core veneer" is an special Chinese glossary in Plywood Industry . There are three meanings of "Whole piece core veneer" as the following :

No.1. The ply of plywood core is made of core veneers of size 84cmX127cm by man-hands. Small core gaps exist . The core gaps are small and don’t affect the use of plywood. Most of Chinese plywood of good quality is produced like this .

No.2. The ply of plywood core is made of core veneers of size 84cmX127cm by Joint Machines, core veneers are scarf jointed,the joints are glued and hot-pressed . Few small core gaps exist . Only some big factories produce cores like this .

No.3. The ply of plywood core is made of only one piece of veneer of size over 1220x2440mm . Almost no core gaps . However, the core veneers of size over 1220x2440mm are very few . Very few factories produce cores for some of their panels like this .

Whole piece core veneers of poplar,hardwood and birch can all be classified like that. If without special explanation , "whole piece core veneer" mentioned by your Chinese supplier refers to meaning No.1 .

Core of No.3 is most expensive . Core of No.2 is much more expensive than core of No.1 . However, the quality of No.1 is very good, too .
