Plywood Grade (2-1) – Russian Birch Plywood Standard ( INTERGOVERNMENTAL STANDARD GOST 3916.1-96 – Plywood With Outer Layers Of Deciduous Veneer For General Use)

When produce or trade birch plywood (especially baltic birch plywood), people like to use Russian Plywood Standard – INTERGOVERNMENTAL STANDARD (GOST). There are several versions of GOST Plywood Standard issued at different times . The marks of grades according to different versions of GOST plywood standard are different, too.

The latest version of Russian plywood standard is GOST 3916.1-96 (Plywood With Outer Layers Of Deciduous Veneer For General Use) , which has replaced the previous version of GOST 10.55-71 – ( Birch plywood –Technical requirements for export products) .

However, in international trade, people still like to use GOST 10.55-71 as the standard of Birch plywood. Because business habit is very powerful in international trade . People still prefer BB/CP to II/III when describing the grades of their wanted birch plywood.
