Hardboard (Face)

Hardboard (also called high-density fiberboard) is widely used in furniture, decoration and packing . It’s  a cheaper substitute for plywood for some applications where high strength is not required.

The face of hardboard is smooth(SEE the first picture), while the back of hardboard is not smooth (textured) and looks like wiremesh (SEE the second picture).

We supply hardboard of average quality, which is much cheaper than our hardboard of premium quality .

However, there are two kinds of average-quality-hardboard:
1. one is common average-quality-hardboard;
2. the other is tempered average-quality-hardboard impregnated with additional glue / oil making them stiffer, harder and more resistant to scratches and moisture .

Hardboard (back)

Tempered average-quality-hardboard is about 5% more expensive than common average-quality-hardboard . Tempered average-quality-hardboard is more water resistant, harder, stronger and more rigid.

The color of tempered hardboard is a little darker than common hardboard . The density of tempered hardboard is higher, too .
